Get Career Support

How can a career counselor help you?

Meet with a Career Counselor to discuss your personal career search and to learn about the resources that are available to you as a student.

Career counselors help students with their career plans and job search. They provide support and guidance to achieve career goals. Here’s how they can help:

  • Resume and Cover Letter Help: Teach you how to write and improve your resume and cover letter.
  • Interview Preparation: Practice common interview questions and help you feel confident.
  • Job Search Strategies: Show you how to find jobs and internships, and how to network.
  • Understanding U.S. Work Culture: Explain workplace norms and professional communication.
  • Career Planning: Help you set career goals and explore career options.
  • Graduate School Documents and Decisions: Help you with your graduate school applications, including reviewing personal statements and preparing required documents.
  • Evaluate Offers: You are advised to consult a career counselor before you accept an offer.

Schedule Counseling Appointments

Schedule an appointment with the career counselor who works with your major — easily in ePACK or by calling 919.515.2396. Students can schedule an appointment up to 14 days in advance on ePACK. Visit our ePACK section for more information.

Drop-in Hours

Open to all majors. No appointment is necessary. Drop-in hours are brief sessions up to 15 minutes with a career counselor to address questions you may have about your resume, cover letter, interviewing, or any part of your internship/job search.
