About the Event
This virtual event is designed to support NC State current students and alumni whose career plans have been impacted by changes in federal hiring. Whether you are a current federal employee facing job uncertainty, have been affected by layoffs or hiring disruptions, or are a student who planned to enter public service, Pack Forward offers guidance, tools, and networking opportunities to help you confidently explore new career directions.

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Overview of Resources & Tools
We’ll begin the event with a guided overview of key resources offered by the NC State Career Development Center. Participants will learn how to effectively navigate tools such as ePACK and CareerShift to search for jobs, internships, and employer connections. The session will also cover practical strategies to strengthen your networking skills, craft a compelling resume, and enhance your overall job search. In addition, we’ll provide an up-to-date look at current federal hiring trends to help you better understand the landscape and identify new opportunities, especially in light of recent disruptions in federal employment.

Career Check-Ins
Sign up for a brief 15-minute virtual session with a career professional for personalized support. Get quick feedback on your resume, job search strategies, or career transition questions.
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Networking with Employers
Connect with employers offering opportunities outside of the federal government. Learn about jobs in nonprofits, local and state government, higher education, and the private sector.
