Employer Registration is Open for the Semiconductor and Chips Career Fair and Networking Event – Virtual

Join us for our upcoming virtual career fair powered by Career Fair Plus!

Date: Wednesday, April 10, 2024
Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Semiconductor and Chips Career Fair and Networking Event – Virtual connects students and graduates with employers (technical representatives and hiring managers) and related organizations in this sector (e.g., non-profits, educational institutions) to promote awareness of workforce needs and to offer employment inquiries and interviews on all topics related to semiconductors, including but not limited to electronics and chip design, traditional and wide bandgap semiconductor foundries, manufacturing of semiconductors and advanced chips, and research and development. The event is inspired by the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 which is strengthening “American manufacturing, supply chains, and national security, and is investing in research and development, science and technology, and the workforce of the future to keep the United States the leader in the industries of tomorrow, including nanotechnology, clean energy, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence.” (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/08/09/fact-sheet-chips-and-science-act-will-lower-costs-create-jobs-strengthen-supply-chains-and-counter-china/)

Students and graduates of Associate, BS, MS, and PhD degree programs in relevant fields are encouraged to attend, which includes but is not limited to electrical and computer engineering, computer science, materials science, chemical engineering, physics, chemistry, and industrial engineering. Even if you are not actively searching for a position right now, your participation could help you to make the best decisions in your educational program choices, potentially positioning you to be more competitive for employment in a “dream job” in the future. Interested students are encouraged learn what recruiters are looking for in potential candidates.

NC State is home to the Commercial Leap Ahead for Wide Bandgap Semiconductors (CLAWS) Hub in the Microelectronics Commons, a Department of Defense initiative funded by the CHIPS and Science Act. As one aspect of this career fair, regional and national industries associated with the CLAWS Hub are especially interested in recruiting students and graduates for development of wide bandgap semiconductors. NC A&T is a partner institution in CLAWS and the NC A&T Career Services is involved in this event.
