First Winner Announced in State Farm Sales and Marketing Competition at NC State

NC State University held its first State Farm Sales & Marketing Competition on November 18, 2016. Six students, whose majors range from business administration to nutrition, competed in a sales role play, with actors posing as prospective clients. The students had to build relationships with the clients and inform them about State Farm and its services in a compelling way. The role play was recorded from the State Farm Sales and Marketing Lab in Pullen Hall, where a panel of judges critiqued the students in real time.

Our Winner

Tyler Eubanks, a senior majoring in biological sciences, came out on top in the competition! He won a new MacBook Air and a chance to represent NC State in the national State Farm Sales & Marketing Competition in 2017, at the University of Central Missouri. Congratulations, Tyler!

“As someone who had no prior experience in sales or marketing, the State Farm Sales Academy was an incredible learning opportunity. The one-on-one interaction with State Farm mentors provided a much more individualized learning experience than a typical classroom setting and allowed the students to receive direct feedback in regards to their strengths and weaknesses. As a Biological Sciences major I’d recommend this program to anyone, not just business or marketing majors – the skills learned can be applied in a variety of fields and professional settings.”
